September 30th, 2021

Dear Parents/Guardians,

On behalf of Dr. Pang, our Board of Directors and all staff, it is my great pleasure to send to you best wishes as we close for the October National Holiday.  欢度国庆 -huān dù guó qìng, “Enjoy the National Day Holiday”! Please note that as a result of the National Holiday, there will be no classes from October 1st to October 10th.  School reopens and all classes resume on October 11th, 2021.

We are excited and grateful that you and your child[ren] have joined our CISB school community. Thank you for placing your trust in our programs and with our staff!

Our students have enjoyed an extremely positive beginning to this new school year. We are very pleased to have our students back on campus while being able to conduct all classes in person. Being able to offer ASA activities, sports and so much more adds greatly to the positive schooling environment that we desire for our students.

I would encourage you to regularly go to our school website to see the many activities/events that our students have been or will be involved in- www.CISBeijing.com. Please note that we use the following media platforms to share out the great things that happen here each week. Search @CISBeijing on WeChat, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter. The National Holiday is a time when families traditionally gather to reunite. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 virus is still active in parts of China and for everyone’s health we strongly recommend that you avoid unnecessary travel to areas outside Beijing.

If you have to travel over the National Holiday, please ensure the safety for yourself and your family members and plan your itinerary wisely:

• Avoid traveling to or through any medium-high risk area.

• Avoid travelling to areas with one or more new domestic confirmed cases reported within 14 days.

• Anyone with a travel history or residence in medium-high risk areas, or a history of contact with confirmed or asymptomatic cases, should report immediately to the local authorities and school while cooperating with related management requirements.

• Those who have returned to Beijing from cities with one or more new domestic confirmed cases in the past 14 days shall complete self-health monitoring at home for 14 days after arriving in Beijing. If there is no suspicious condition, they can apply for returning to school with a negative covid-19 test result within 72 hours.

Please scan the QR code below to confirm your stay in Beijing and/ or travel plan. If the QR code can’t be accessed, please click the link: https://jinshuju.net/f/KG99L2

Please continue to check for messages from the school to keep you informed on any further notifications regarding COVID-19 control and prevention during the holiday.

Further to the above, the Senior Leadership Team has made the decision to continue with the practice of requiring all teachers, support staff, third party providers and students to have a negative COVID-19 test result within 72 hours of school reopening on Monday, October 11th, 2021. NOTE—you should make arrangements for your child(ren) to have their test on either October 8th or 9th, 2021 in order to receive the results prior to school reopening Monday, October 11th, 2021). All students are required to submit a paper copy of their negative COVID-19 test results at the Main Gate (preschool-elementary students) and East Gate (middle-high students). Bus students must submit their negative COVID-19 test results to the bus ayi.

Thanks very much for your cooperation, support and understanding as we try to ensure for a safe school environment for all of our CISB family. Building a strong partnership between our homes and school will help us see students remaining healthy and safe so that they can strive to achieve at their highest level. Together is Better!!

Happy National Holiday! May your time spent with family and friends be filled with laughter and lasting memories!

Together is Better!
