Ms. Casado is a qualified primary teacher registered through the Department for Education in England. Ms. Casado holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Education specializing in Modern Foreign Languages from La Rioja University. She is currently studying for a Master’s in Special Needs and Inclusive Education at Nottingham University. Raquel is originally from Spain but has lived abroad most of her adulthood. She truly enjoys making her life a travelling adventure. She is fascinated and inspired by other cultures. In her free time, she likes reading, running, dancing and shopping with a break involving coffee and cake. She has taught at elementary level since 2011 and has held various teaching and leadership roles such as Spanish teacher, EAL and Global Dimension coordinator, PE teacher and homeroom teacher in Nottingham, England, Beijing and Tokyo. Her four years of experience as an IB PYP educator have shaped her teaching philosophy and practice. She works tirelessly to plant seeds that trigger curiosity and at the same time encourages students to take control of their learning and become reflective critical thinkers. Ms. Casado is passionate about teaching and inclusive education. She believes that each student has the potential to bring something unique and special to the world and that being a teacher is a huge privilege that shouldn’t be taken for granted, and she never does.
