Third Annual CISB Learning Expo – December 12th
Incorporating both Individuals and Societies (I&S) unit and Service as Action objectives, CISB’s Third Annual I&S Learning Expo saw students from grades 6-10 select or create a research question on an issue related to a unit within the scope of a selected country, region, or timeframe. Each grade in I&S had a unique and curriculum focused goal that was explored in the context of MYP objectives linked to investigating and communicating.
During period 5, grades 6, 7 and 8 students presented to the CISB community, including parents, grades 3, 4, 5, 9 and 10 students, administrators and faculty. They did a fantastic job discussing their process and results, and engaging with their audience by using visuals and commentary.
Following period 5, grades 9 and 10 students held workshops in grade 6-8 Service as Action classrooms. Students presented on a variety of topics related to either famous Greeks or revolutionary periods in history. Parents, students and faculty members listened, watched, and at times participated, as students answered their research question and then supported their answer logically with points and evidence.
The Individuals and Societies department would like to thank the CISB community, administration, support staff, students, and faculty for their contributions to the success of this project.
