Jeff Zownir is from Toronto, Canada. He completed his BPHE at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, and his BEd and MEd at Canisius College in Buffalo, New York. He is in his second year at CISB and brings 25 years of high school teaching experience from Toronto, along with over 23 years of International teaching during the summer months. He has taught Basketball and Baseball to fellow PE teachers and coaches in Austria, Hungary, Lithuania, Finland, Estonia, Russia, Taiwan, Italy, Moldova and China. He started a basketball camp for children in Budapest, Hungary, for four years and has been a guest speaker, camp director and instructor on several occasions in Canada. His high school basketball teams have won 3 Ontario Championships and over 100 tournaments in Canada and the US, with many of his players graduating to successfully play University basketball in Canada and the US. A few have gone on to play professional basketball as well. As an avid traveller, he has brought more than 600 students to Europe on cultural trips for 23 years. He is happy to be a part of the CISB community with his wife and two daughters as they continue to enjoy the experience of living in Beijing.
