In this week’s PSES weekly news, we are delighted to celebrate the accomplishments of the StageKittens Jr., the Kindergarten showcase, Children’s Day and a CISB student who secured 3rd place in the Science Without Borders® Challenge. As we look back on this week, we are amazed by the development of future leaders, as students’ critical thinking skills are ignited.
StageKittens Jr. Takes Center Stage

StageKittens Jr. 占据了舞台中心
On May 25, 2023, CISB’s StageKittens Jr was invited by Maizidian Street to participate in their opening ceremony of the 13th Annual International Community Culture Season Event held at Solana Square.
Twenty-six students from Grades KG-2 had an enjoyable morning performing two songs from the spring musical Rock Bottom. There was a lot of excitement in the air as the students showed off their best voices and dance talents and wowed the crowd! It was a wonderful experience completing the 2022-23 StageKittens Jr year of practices and performances!
Celebrating Kindergarten Brilliance: A Showcase of Innovation and Creativity

We are thrilled that our kindergarten students recently had their first learning showcase! It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to shine as they demonstrated to their families, teachers, and friends.

During this year, our kindergarten students learned and understood how old innovations and technologies have influenced our modern lives.
On Tuesday, our kindergarten students presented the ancient paper-making process and used simple tools to recycle the paper by giving it a new look.
在周二，我们Kindergarten学生用古代的造纸工艺来展示如果利用循环的纸张，并带来新的样貌与用途。
We were impressed by the confidence and passion displayed by our kindergarten students as they presented their ideas for promoting recycling. It was clear that they had put a lot of effort and thought into their presentations, and we are proud of their hard work and dedication.
Congratulations to our kindergarten students on a successful learning showcase! We look forward to seeing what they will achieve in the future.
Children’s Day Celebration
Happy Children’s Day to all the children around the world!
Celebrating Children’s Day is a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge the significance of childhood and the distinct needs of young learners by prioritizing the well-being and happiness of our students.
Every child possesses unique talents and potential, and our mission is to assist them in uncovering their strengths and offering them the finest educational resources and support.
Kindergarten的学生们在展示他们的创意时，充满信心和热情的摸样，令我们印象深刻。我们的学生在演讲中付出了很多努力和思考，我们为他们的努力和奉献感到自豪。

The Children’s Day celebration brings the joy of discovery and growth to our younger students.

Congratulations to Alexander Zhang, a student at CISB, for winning third place in the 2023 Science Without Borders® Challenge. His artwork, “Mother River Saves Lives,” impressed the judges and earned him a $200 USD scholarship. In an interview, Alexander shared that his drawing aims to raise awareness about ocean conservation and inspire action.
Tell me about your artwork. What is it, and what message are you hoping it will convey to others?
I hope others will notice my drawing and then take action to save the ocean. For example, reducing plastic use and picking up litter when you go to the beach. Also, spread the message of the importance of the ocean to humans around the world.
What did you learn by participating in the Challenge?
I learned knowledge about the extinction of marine life and patience. I prepared for a long time, and the process took around six months, from November to May.

跟我聊聊你的艺术作品。它是什么，你希望它能传达给别人什么信息?
我希望其他人能注意到我的画，然后采取行动拯救海洋。例如，减少塑料的使用，当你去海滩时捡起垃圾。同时，传播海洋对世界各地人类重要性的信息。
你从参加挑战赛中学到了什么?
我学到了关于海洋生物灭绝的知识，并耐心地准备了很长时间，从11月到5月，大约花了6个月的时间。
