The Canadian International School of Beijing is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our students in the 2026 Math Kangaroo (MK) competition.
The competition was held at CISB on Saturday, March 28, 2026. Students from across multiple grade-levels participated enthusiastically, demonstrating perseverance, resilience, creativity, and strong mathematical reasoning skills.
This year’s results were exceptional, with CISB students earning:
– 1 National Top Gold Award
– 1 National Gold Award
– 1 National Silver Award
– 4 National Bronze Awards
– 8 Proficiency Awards
– 3 students qualifying for the Math Kangaroo Asia Championship
We are especially proud of Shiyuan, who achieved the prestigious National Top Gold Award, one of the highest recognitions in the competition. Franklin earned a National Gold Award, while Woojin received a National Silver Award. All three students also qualified for the Math Kangaroo Asia Championship, an incredible accomplishment that highlights advanced mathematical thinking and problem-solving ability.
Students including Allen, Claire, Yerin, and Mori were recognized with National Bronze Awards for their excellent performances and strong mathematical reasoning skills.
We would also like to congratulate our students who earned Proficiency Awards for their hard work and dedication:
Jingfang, Yuefeng, Casey, Ian, Olivia, Raymond, Xueyi, and Damon.
The Math Kangaroo competition is internationally recognized for promoting logical reasoning, creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving through engaging mathematical challenges. At CISB, we believe mathematics is not only about finding the correct answer, but also about developing confidence, curiosity, resilience, and a willingness to take intellectual risks.
Competitions such as Math Kangaroo provide meaningful opportunities for students to challenge themselves academically while strengthening important Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills, including critical thinking, self-management, and research skills. The success of our students reflects the dedication and hard work of the students themselves, the encouragement and support of families, and the commitment of our teachers to creating engaging, meaningful learning experiences that foster inquiry and problem-solving.
We warmly congratulate all participating and award-winning students on their achievements — we’re incredibly proud of the way you represented CISB and look forward to seeing your continued growth and success.
