CISB accept applications from 6 months to 18 years old.
Please refer to CISB’s grade placement guidelines below. Note that applicants for Early Years (EY) through grade 1 will be placed strictly according to their age as of December 31. Students who have completed a grade 1 program or higher and are younger than the guidelines indicate may occasionally be considered for a higher grade placement. Guidance for Students Applying from Schools with Different Academic Calendars Than CISB’s
At CISB, our academic year begins in mid-August and ends in mid-June. We understand that many students come from schools with different academic calendars, and we are here to support you through the transition.
When determining grade placement for students from different educational systems—such as those commonly found in Korea, Japan, or Australia—we consider the following factors:
- The student’s age
- The percentage of the school year already completed at their previous school
- The percentage of the school year remaining in CISB’s calendar
Our goal is to ensure that each student is placed in the most suitable grade level for their educational journey. If you have any questions about grade placement, please feel free to reach out to our admissions office adissions@cisbeijing.com. We are happy to assist you!
