From Thursday to Saturday, CISB hosted the ACAMIS Blue Division Volleyball Tournament, with five other international schools traveling to Beijing from cities across China, including Shanghai, Suzhou, Qingdao, and Shenzhen.

The atmosphere was electric— students from all schools filled the gym with cheers, pride, and a lot of school spirit. Thanks to the drums graciously lent by our Music Department, the crowd truly made some noise and had a blast celebrating every match.

Both Bobcat teams enjoyed a great deal of success during the tournament, both advancing to the finals on Saturday. Our girls were looking for their third consecutive ACAMIS championship. After dropping the first set, it looked like the pressure might’ve been getting the better of them, but they rallied back in spectacular fashion. With determination and a strong sense of teamwork, they battled through nerves to claim victory in a dramatic third set. Overcoming the expectations of a home crowd and achieving the three-peat was no easy feat, and they should be incredibly proud of themselves!

Earlier that morning, our boys took to the court for a hard-fought final against QSIS, a very worthy opponent. They battled fiercely through every rally and showed tremendous grit, ultimately falling in a dramatic third set. Though they dreamed of gold, their second-place finish reflected true determination, teamwork, and school pride. Boys, you should be so proud of how you played the game, carried yourselves, and supported each other— you did us at CISB proud!

The ACAMIS tournament marks the end of the fall season for Bobcat Athletics, as we now move into the winter season with U19 Basketball and U14 Volleyball. See you back out on the court soon!

A big thank you to our coaches— Mr. Manderville, Mr. Muller, Mr. Bergh, Mr. Mitchell — to our families, parents, siblings, and to all our supporters, students, to our visiting school teams and coaches… What an incredible event with so much energy and spirit!

A big shout out to Mr. Brett Mitchell, CISB’s Athletic Director, for his tireless efforts and exceptional organization in hosting this year’s ACAMIS Blue Division Tournament, thank you for your commitment, dedication, and for making this tournament one to remember.
