Accreditations
At the Canadian International School of Beijing (CISB), accreditation means that our school is regularly checked by trusted international and Canadian education organizations to make sure we meet high standards for learning, student wellbeing, and school operations.
CISB is fully authorized by the International Baccalaureate (IB) to offer all three IB programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), and Diploma Programme (DP). This means our curriculum, teaching, assessment, and student support systems are reviewed and approved to meet international IB standards.
CISB is also recognized by the Government of Canada as a provincially affiliated offshore school. We are authorized and fully accredited by Atlantic Education International (AEI), the overseas education authority of the Province of New Brunswick. AEI regularly inspects our school to ensure we meet Canadian curriculum and graduation requirements. CISB is listed on the Canadian Information Centre for International Credentials (CICIC), the official federal website that verifies Canadian-affiliated schools worldwide.
Students who graduate from CISB earn the Canadian High School Diploma. This diploma is recognized by universities in Canada as well as internationally. Graduates are eligible for local (domestic) tuition status in universities in the Province of New Brunswick.
CISB is a member of the Council of International Schools (CIS) and is currently working toward full CIS accreditation. We are also in the process of achieving full accreditation with the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). These organizations review school leadership, safeguarding, teaching quality, and student learning. CISB is completing this joint accreditation process, with full accreditation expected in 2027–2028.
Together, these accreditations show CISB’s strong commitment to quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
