The House system at CISB is designed to enrich the sense of community, collaboration, and personal growth for all of our students. Students are divided into five vibrant and diverse Houses, each named after one of the five Chinese elements – Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water.

This innovative system aims to create a stronger bond between students of all ages, inspire leadership, and provide opportunities for team-building, competition, and celebration. Each House represents one of the fundamental forces in Chinese philosophy, embodying core values that we believe will resonate deeply within our school community:
- Wood 木 symbolizes growth, creativity, and resilience.
- Fire 火 represents passion, energy, and transformation.
- Earth 土 embodies stability, balance, and nurturing.
- Metal 金 stands for strength, discipline, and determination.
- Water 水 reflects adaptability, wisdom, and harmony.
Each House is another opportunity for students can come together to build friendships and collaboratively engage in wide range of fun activities throughout the year such as mini sports tournaments and competitions in areas such as general knowledge, Math, Spelling Bees etc. It’s not just about friendly competition, but also about fostering a sense of belonging and teamwork. Students will therefore both compete with and support each other in their personal and academic growth.
All students and teachers have a HOUSE shirt which is to be worn on HOUSE Days every Friday.
