CISB High School Learning Pathways
Pathway 1 -Grade 11 – starting with the full IB Diploma.

Grade 11
Students who meet the academic criteria may choose to start the IB Diploma Programme in Grade 11. The IB Diploma is a two year programme consisting of:
• 3 Standard Level subjects
• 3 Higher Level subjects
• Extended Essay
• Theory of Knowledge (ToK)
• Community Action & Service (CAS)
At the end of Grade 11, GPA, courses and University choices are discussed to ascertain the best options to maximise chances for chosen pathways. Some may continue into in the IB Diploma, change to all CHSD subjects, or chose a hybrid of subjects.
Grade 12
For those who continue in the IB Diploma Programme into Grade 12, the programme culminates in external examinations assessments in May of the final year. Various Internal Assessments (IAs)are also submitted on different subject in the months before this.
Pathway 2 – Canadian High School Diploma

Grade 11 – starting with Canadian High School Diploma courses. This track continues into Grade 12.
4-6 courses per semester
A two year programme comprised of a range of semester-based courses.
Culminates in internal school assessments at the end of each semester.
+ Community Action & Service (CAS)
Pathway 3 – Both IB courses and Canadian High School Diploma courses

Grade 11 – starting with a mixture of IB courses and Canadian High School Diploma courses.
Choose form any IB courses (any level) and CHSD courses
+ Community Action & Service (CAS)
At the end of Grade 11, GPA, courses and University choices are discussed to ascertain the best options to maximise chances for chosen pathways.
Students may decide to continue or not continue with IB courses into Grade 12.
