The Parent Association is governed by the Executive Committee. Any parent can propose their candidature for one of the six places and is then elected or installed directly if unopposed. Fresh elections are held every year. CISB encourages a mix of nationalities and parents from different grade levels to reflect the community.

The PA Executive Committee meets with the school leadership on a regular basis every 4-6 weeks. Formal meetings have an agenda and minutes are kept.
The Executive committee consults and communicates regularly with the wider body of parents through their WeChat group, as well as holding meetings in school. CISB also has Parent Class Representatives (PCRs), further refining understanding and communication with the parent body.
