On Friday, November 8th, we had the pleasure of welcoming authors Alexis Kossiakoff and Scott Forbes Crawford to the Canadian International School of Beijing (CISB). The visit was a fantastic opportunity for students in grades 3 to 8 to gain insight into the world of writing and publishing.
Presentation Highlights
During their presentation, Alexis and Scott shared their journeys as authors. They discussed the inspiration behind their books, elaborating on how their ideas evolved into published works. The authors provided an overview of the writing process, touching upon the challenges and rewards they encountered along the way.
Engaging with Students
The session concluded with a lively Q&A segment, where students asked truly insightful questions about the craft of writing. These questions demonstrated the students’ keen interest and understanding of the writing process, impressing both authors.
Future Workshops
Alexis and Scott were very impressed with our students’ enthusiasm and curiosity. They expressed their eagerness to return for writers’ workshops on their next trip to Beijing. This future collaboration promises to further inspire and develop the writing skills of our students.
