U19 Boys Dominate in ACAMIS Championship

The CISB Boys Basketball team displayed exceptional skill and unity at the ACAMIS Championship, dominating the tournament with decisive victories. Their campaign began with a 76-28 win over YCIS Shanghai, where Tony and Yahan scored 19 points each.
Continuing their dominant run, the team achieved a remarkable 71-18 victory against QISS, with Ethan and Yahan scoring 15 points each. They maintained momentum in subsequent games, including a 73-25 win against Qingdao YCIS, a 57-15 triumph over Dulwich Suzhou and a 52-19 win versus host Wellington Shanghai. In the semi-final match, CISB secured a 65-26 win against QISS, with outstanding performances from Nic and George. The team’s cohesive efforts culminated in an impressive 69-36 vitory against YCIS, sealing their championship win. Congratulations to Ewan and Yahan who were selected tournament all-stars and Nic who was chosen MVP.

Coach Jeff Zownir’s Impact

Amid the celebration of CISB’s triumphant win at the ACAMIS championship, the spotlight shines on Coach Jeff Zownir, a guiding force behind the team’s success. With four years at CISB, Coach Zownir has instilled in his players a blend of resilience, teamwork, and the strategic finesse required to excel in competitive sports. Under his mentorship, CISB has secured titles such as the U14 girls, U19 boys ISAC and ACAMIS Championships, highlighting his skill in turning athletic ambition into concrete achievements.

Girls U19 Basketball Show Grit and Growth

The CISB Under 19 Girls Basketball team performed strongly at the ACAMIS Tournament. The team faced a tough opener against Dulwich College, enduring a 52-24 loss after a competitive first half. They rebounded with a hard-fought 22-19 win against Wellington. The team narrowly missed out in a contested match against QISS, with a final score of 15-11. The tournament concluded with the U19 Girls finishing fourth after a 35-11 game against QISS. Despite their disappointment, the youngest team in the tournament gained valuable experience and lessons in teamwork and perseverance. Their spirit and efforts are a source of pride for the CISB community.

ISAC Volleyball Tournament

U14 Boys Volleyball

The U14 Boys Volleyball team emerged as ISAC Champions. The tournament began with a resounding victory against IST, with the team securing the match in two sets (25-8, 25-6). The momentum continued against Daystar in a game that stretched to a third set, culminating in a hard-fought CISB win (25-23, 24-26, 16-14). CISB clinched the championship final against TEDA in two contested sets (25-23, 26-24). The CISB community proudly celebrates their triumph and dedicated sportsmanship.

U14 Girls Volleyball

The U14 Girls Volleyball started strong, claiming victories against BCIS and YCIS with a 2-1 set score. Despite their initial success, the team faced challenging matches against Daystar, Dulwich, and BWYA, resulting in losses. Their commendable efforts throughout the tournament earned them a respectable 4th-place finish, and the team gained valuable experience in the competition.
