On February 13th 2025, CISB hosted a Parent Presentation on the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), offering insights into how the framework supports student-centered learning. The session emphasized the PYP’s focus on agency, critical thinking, and international-mindedness, aligning with CISB’s mission to develop inquisitive, knowledgeable, and compassionate lifelong learners.
Parents explored the transdisciplinary approach of the PYP, which integrates concept-based learning, inquiry-driven instruction, and real-world applications. The session also highlighted how the IB Learner Profile and Approaches to Learning cultivate well-rounded, reflective, and globally aware students.
CISB is committed to a rigorous yet personalized curriculum, ensuring all students receive an appropriate balance of challenge and support through flexible learning pathways that are tailored to their readiness. Parents engaged in meaningful discussions, asking questions about the IB philosophy, curriculum structure, and academic expectations.
This session is just one of many that foster ongoing opportunities for dialogue between parents and educators here at CISB. Our next parent workshop will be catered to Middle and High School families, so come join us on February 27th for a session on “Understanding Service.”
