CISB Integrating Social-Emotional Learning: A Collaborative Approach with Parents
On Thursday, February 27th, we hosted a successful parent workshop on Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) for Early Years and Elementary School families. With a great turnout, the session was interactive and hands-on, creating a trusting and engaging learning environment. Parents actively participated in discussions and shared positive feedback, emphasizing the importance of SEL in daily learning. One parent noted, “I am so glad the school is intentionally doing these kinds of programs with my child.”
SEL cannot just be a binder on the shelf used once or twice a week—it must be woven into every aspect of a student’s learning experience.
Navigating Course Selection for Grades 11 & 12
Parents and students from Grade 10 attended a course selection workshop to gain insights into the IB Diploma Program and New Brunswick graduation requirements. The session provided valuable guidance on academic pathways, helping families make informed decisions for the final two years of High School.
“The Pathways meeting reassured both my parents and me that CISB offers excellent and comprehensive classes in the humanities. The session provided valuable insights into the course selection process, with all available educational programs discussed in detail. I left the meeting feeling informed and confident, and I’m truly excited to see what Grade 11 has in store for me!”

“At last Thursday’s meeting, we received a thorough and beneficial overview of the NB program and the Full DP Diploma… it gave me a much better understanding of course selection andprerequisites for various educational systems. I now have a better understanding of what colleges are looking for and what I need to prepare for. It feels less daunting because CISB provided a detailed explanation of how everything will work”
