At CISB, we believe that leadership, independence, and a love of learning begin in the earliest years of life. Our Early Years Program combines the strength of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) with the principles of Montessori education, giving children a learning experience that is both structured and deeply personal.
From the very first day, children are welcomed into a prepared environment where their voices, choices, and curiosity are celebrated. With nurturing teachers, thoughtfully designed spaces, and an emphasis on exploration, our youngest learners grow into confident, capable, and compassionate individuals.
We welcome children from 6 months to 5 years old, offering two pathways of growth:
Explorers (6 months – 4 years)
The first stage of our Early Years Program is all about wonder, discovery, and independence. Children begin their journey as Explorers, encouraged to interact with their environment, build early social connections, and develop a sense of self-confidence.
- Nido Program (6-18 months): A warm, sensory-rich environment where infants explore through movement, touch, and play. Teachers and caregivers provide the trust and security children need as they begin their journey toward independence.
- Pre-Kindergarten & Early Years (18 months–4 years): Young Explorers are guided through an engaging blend of Montessori practices and PYP learning approaches. Children learn by doing—using hands-on materials, making choices, and working with peers—laying the foundation for problem-solving, social-emotional growth, and curiosity-driven learning.
By the time they complete this stage, Explorers have developed the essential skills of independence, collaboration, and joyful learning—ready to take on greater challenges.
Inquirers (5 years)
At age 5, children step into the next phase of their journey as Inquirers, fully engaging with the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP).
Here, children begin to see themselves not just as learners, but as capable, responsible, and empowered young leaders.
- Inquiry-driven learning encourages them to ask questions, investigate, and find solutions.
- Collaboration and agency help them learn how to work with others, take initiative, and build responsibility.
- A strong emphasis on leadership, confidence, and community ensures they see themselves as active contributors to the world around them.
The Inquirer stage gives children the solid foundation they need to transition confidently into Elementary School, ready to thrive in academic challenges and leadership opportunities.
