Last week, the talented golfers from CISB made their mark at the prestigious 2024 ACAMIS Golf Championship, held at the Yalong Bay Golf Club in Sanya. The event was historic, as it was the largest of its kind for the ACAMIS Golf Championship, drawing in numerous competitors from various schools.
Over two days, the nine CISB golfers competed across 36 holes on the Asian tour course, which boasts recognition as one of China’s top 10 golf courses and ranks in the top 100 in Asia. Despite being the youngest team, the Bobcats demonstrated remarkable talent and tenacity throughout the tournament.
Emily C, a grade six student, secured an impressive fourth place in the Girls U14 division. Emily also claimed victory in the long drive championship and the closest-to-the-pin competitions, cementing her status as a budding golf prodigy.
In the Boys U14 category, Yutaro M kept the CISB winning streak alive by also capturing the closest to the pin competition. Teammate George L delivered a strong performance, finishing seventh, closely followed by Yutaro M in tenth place. Orlando Y narrowly missed the top ten with an eleventh-place finish. George L and Yutaro M continued the CISB winning ways by coming out on top in two of the putting challenges.
With such young talent already making an impact at the 2024 ACAMIS Golf Championship, the CISB community is eager to see what these young golfers will accomplish next. Their success in Sanya is just the beginning of what looks to be an exciting journey in the world of competitive golf.
